Villa Renovation in Whitefield: Transforming an Existing Home

Floating Frames is an ongoing 6,000 sq ft villa renovation project in Whitefield, Bangalore, by Shreekant Architecture. Located on a 40 ft x 60 ft plot, the project brings architecture and interior design together to transform the existing villa into a more functional and cohesive living environment. The renovation responds to the scale of the home while considering the practical needs of contemporary family life.

The brief focuses on reworking the existing spaces rather than treating the renovation as a completely new build. Spatial relationships, circulation, storage, furniture planning, and interior detailing are considered together to improve how the villa functions. The aim is to create better-connected spaces while giving the renovated home a clear and consistent design character.

The Creative Solution

Residential Villa Renovation in Whitefield: Reworking Space and Character

The design approach for Floating Frames works with the existing structure to introduce meaningful changes to the way the villa is experienced. Architectural planning focuses on improving movement between spaces, refining room proportions, and making the available area more effective for everyday use. Existing conditions are considered alongside the proposed interventions so that the renovation remains practical and visually integrated.

The interior design complements these architectural changes through coordinated furniture layouts, storage solutions, materials, finishes, and detailing. Living areas and private spaces are planned around their individual requirements while maintaining a connected visual language throughout the villa. By coordinating architectural and interior decisions, the renovation allows functional improvements to become part of the overall design rather than appearing as separate additions.
