Contemporary Chic: Modern Apartment Interior Design in Jayanagar, Bangalore

Contemporary Chic is a completed 1,800 sq ft apartment interior design project for Bhadra Residence in Jayanagar, Bangalore. The brief was to create a contemporary and confident home without relying on trends that could quickly feel dated. The design therefore focuses on balanced proportions, timeless materials, and a carefully controlled colour palette.

The core palette combines black, white, and warm grey, creating a contemporary base with lasting appeal. The living room pairs a black-framed glass-and-metal display unit with a warm ivory bouclé sofa and geometric black-and-white rug. Brass accents across the cabinet pulls, floor lamp, and picture frames add warmth.

The kitchen continues the same language with matte-black lower cabinetry, crisp white upper units, and matching brass hardware. The dining area introduces the home's main colour accent through a deep emerald wall behind a solid walnut dining table, creating a strong visual anchor without extending the colour throughout the home. Bedrooms use a calmer grey-and-white palette with warm wood-toned flooring and softer lighting. Custom-built storage throughout, including a matte-black shoe and utility unit at the entrance, keeps the material language consistent across the apartment.
