The modular kitchen price in Bangalore for a typical apartment, including homes along Kanakapura Road, usually falls between about ₹1.5 lakh and ₹4 lakh. Where you land in that range depends on:
Larger villa kitchens, islands and premium finishes such as PU or acrylic can take the price well beyond ₹4 lakh.
That ₹1.5–4 lakh band is in line with what other Bangalore kitchen studios publish for 2026, where a basic modular kitchen typically starts between about ₹1.2 lakh and ₹1.6 lakh.
The ranges below come from our own published pricing and a real sample quote. We also cover the part most price guides skip: what a modular kitchen quote usually leaves out. Our broader kitchen cost guide covers renovation budgets across India. This page focuses on new modular kitchens in Bangalore homes.

These are the indicative ranges from our kitchen pricing guide
| Kitchen level | Indicative budget | Usually includes |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | ₹1.5 lakh – ₹3 lakh | Laminate cabinets, granite countertop, ceramic backsplash, basic hardware, standard sink |
| Mid-range | ₹3 lakh – ₹6 lakh | Soft-close drawers, quartz countertop, better storage, premium laminates, backsplash tiles |
| Premium | ₹6 lakh – ₹12 lakh+ | PU finish cabinets, built-in appliances, designer lighting, island counters, imported hardware, smart storage |
Size and layout move a kitchen between these bands as much as finishes do. Our own sample L-shaped kitchen, about 13 running feet with acrylic shutters and a quartz top, came to ₹3.1 lakh. That puts it at the start of the mid-range band. A larger villa kitchen or an island will usually sit higher.
Modular kitchen cost in Bangalore changes with material prices and brand choices, so treat these as planning ranges, not a quote.

The layout affects the price mainly through how many running feet of cabinets it needs and how many corner units it has. Corner mechanisms cost more than straight runs.
| Layout | How it affects price |
|---|---|
| Straight (one wall) | Lowest cabinet length and no corners; usually the most affordable |
| L-shaped | One corner unit; the most common apartment layout and a good value balance |
| Parallel | Two straight runs, no corners, but more total length than an L in the same room |
| U-shaped | Two corner units and the most cabinet length; higher price |
| Island | Adds a freestanding unit, plus plumbing, electrical and ducting if a sink or hob goes on it |

In our published sample quote for a mid-range 3BHK, the kitchen was:
It was priced at ₹3,10,000 before GST. That works out to roughly ₹23,800 per running foot for that specification.
A smaller L-shape with laminate shutters and a granite top would cost less. A larger one with PU shutters and premium hardware would cost more.
One reason kitchen quotes are hard to compare is that vendors measure them differently.
Neither method is wrong. The problem comes when one quote is per running foot and another per square foot, and you compare the headline rates. Always ask for the total, and for the rate basis to be written on the quote.
Here are indicative per-square-foot ranges by finish, from our India kitchen pricing guide:
| Kitchen material / finish | Approx. price per sq ft |
|---|---|
| Laminate finish | ₹1,200 – ₹1,800 |
| MDF modular kitchen | ₹1,500 – ₹2,500 |
| Plywood kitchen | ₹2,000 – ₹3,500 |
| Acrylic finish | ₹2,500 – ₹4,500 |
| PU finish | ₹3,500 – ₹6,000+ |
The carcass is the cabinet box behind the shutters. It is where cutting costs causes the most damage, because a swollen sink cabinet cannot be fixed with a new shutter.
| Material | Price position | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Particle board | Lowest | Low moisture resistance; avoid near the sink and hob |
| MDF | Low to mid | Overhead cabinets and painted shutters in dry areas; never under the sink |
| HDHMR | Mid | Stable and moisture-resistant; often used for shutters |
| BWR plywood | Mid to high | Our standard for kitchen carcasses and moisture-exposed areas |
| BWP / marine plywood | High | Sink units and wet kitchens |
Spending a little more on BWR or BWP plywood for the carcass, and saving on the shutter finish instead, usually gives a longer-lasting kitchen for the same budget. We compare HDHMR, MR and BWP in more depth in our guide to 3BHK interior costs in Bangalore.

After size and carcass, the two biggest price drivers are:
Shutter finish. In rough order from least to most expensive:
Laminate is the most practical for heavy Indian cooking. Acrylic and PU give a premium look at a higher price.
Hardware. Hinges, drawer channels, corner mechanisms, tall-unit pull-outs and lift-up systems. Branded soft-close hardware costs more upfront but takes the most wear in a kitchen. It is usually where a slightly higher spend pays back.
Countertop. Granite is widely available and durable. Quartz gives a uniform look and usually costs more.
Accessories. Every pull-out basket, cutlery organiser, tandem drawer and corner carousel adds to the price. Choose the ones you will actually use. A few deep drawers often work better than many specialist pull-outs.

This is where most budgets go wrong. A modular kitchen quote typically covers the cabinets, shutters, countertop and hardware, but not everything a working kitchen needs.
| Item | Often excluded? | Check in your quote |
|---|---|---|
| GST | Often shown separately | Is the price with or without GST? In our sample quote, GST was charged at 18% |
| Chimney and hob | Usually excluded | Who supplies and fixes them? Are cut-outs and ducting included? |
| Sink and tap | Sometimes excluded | Brand, size and whether installation is included |
| Built-in appliances (oven, microwave, dishwasher) | Usually excluded | Are the housing units designed to their exact sizes? |
| Electrical points and wiring changes | Often separate | New points for the chimney, hob, microwave, purifier |
| Plumbing changes | Often separate | Moving the sink or adding a dishwasher or purifier line |
| Wall tiling / dado and civil work | Usually separate | Is tiling between the counter and wall units included? |
| Society fit-out deposit | Not part of the quote | Required upfront in many apartment complexes |
In our published sample quote, the exclusions were appliances (chimney, hob, washing machine), loose furniture, civil changes and the association’s fit-out deposit. We list more of the gaps that catch homeowners out in our guide to mistakes to avoid when hiring an interior designer.
Kanakapura Road starts near the established neighbourhoods of Banashankari and JP Nagar, close to Jayanagar, and runs out to newer apartment developments further south. That mix affects kitchen pricing in a few ways.
Most newer apartment kitchens come with the builder’s plumbing and electrical points already in place. If your layout works with those points, the kitchen is mostly modular work, which keeps the price predictable.
A typical 2BHK apartment kitchen in Bangalore has roughly 10 to 14 running feet of counter. Larger 3BHK kitchens, like the one in our sample quote, are often around 13 running feet or more. Counter length is one of the biggest drivers of the final price.
Many older homes in Banashankari, Jayanagar and JP Nagar have kitchens that were built with masonry platforms and fixed plumbing. Converting them to modular kitchens often needs:
That civil work is usually priced separately from the modular kitchen and can change the total noticeably.
Gated apartment complexes along the road usually have work-timing rules, service-lift booking for material movement and a fit-out deposit. None of these change the kitchen price itself, but they can affect the installation schedule.
Our studio is in Girinagar, Banashankari 4th Phase, close to Kanakapura Road, and many of our apartment projects are in the surrounding neighbourhoods. See our work as interior designers in JP Nagar.
If the kitchen is part of a full-home project, here is how it fitted into our illustrative mid-range 3BHK quote (about 1,180 sq ft carpet area):
| Item | Indicative cost |
|---|---|
| Modular kitchen (L-shape, ~13 running ft, BWP ply, acrylic shutters, quartz top, soft-close hardware) | ₹3,10,000 |
| All other rooms, ceilings, painting and soft furnishings | ₹10,25,000 |
| Subtotal | ₹13,35,000 |
| GST @ 18% | ₹2,40,300 |
| Total | ₹15,75,300 |
In that project, the kitchen was about 23% of the budget, second only to bedrooms and wardrobes. The full room-by-room breakdown is in our guide to 2BHK and 3BHK interior design costs in Bangalore.

| Modular kitchen | Carpenter-built (on site) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is made | Factory-made units, installed on site | Built and finished on site |
| Finish quality | Consistent edges and finishes | Depends heavily on the carpenter’s skill |
| Time on site | Shorter installation | Longer on-site work, more dust and noise |
| Flexibility | Works in standard module sizes, with fillers | Can fit any odd dimension |
| Price | Often similar or slightly higher for the same materials | Can be lower, but quality varies more |
For most apartment kitchens, the consistency and shorter site time of a modular kitchen are worth it. A carpenter-built kitchen can make sense for very irregular spaces, or where you want a specific solid-wood look.
Before comparing totals, line up these details from both quotes:
At House of Crea, modular interior work carries a 10-year warranty, in line with what established Bangalore kitchen studios offer. Ask what the warranty covers in writing. Carcass, shutters and hardware are often covered for different periods.
If two quotes still differ after this, ask each vendor to explain the difference line by line. A good studio will be able to. Once you choose, our interior design contract checklist helps make sure what you agreed is what gets written down.
A kitchen price is only useful when you know exactly what it includes. Share your kitchen’s measurements, a photo of the space and the appliances you use. We will help you understand which layout and materials make sense, and what the full cost looks like, exclusions included. The first consultation is free.
Our pricing guide places basic kitchens at ₹1.5–3 lakh, mid-range at ₹3–6 lakh and premium kitchens at ₹6–12 lakh and above. Size, layout, carcass material and shutter finish decide where a kitchen falls. Our sample L-shaped apartment kitchen of about 13 running feet came to ₹3.1 lakh before GST.
It depends on the length and specification. In our published sample, an L-shaped kitchen of about 13 running feet with a BWP plywood carcass, acrylic shutters, a quartz top and soft-close hardware cost ₹3,10,000 before GST.
Both methods are used. Per running foot is based on the counter length; per square foot is based on the area of the cabinet fronts. Ask each vendor to write the rate basis and the total on the quote, and compare totals rather than rates.
Usually not. Chimneys, hobs and built-in appliances are typically excluded, as are electrical and plumbing changes and wall tiling. Check the exclusions list in every quote.
Not always. Some quotes show prices before GST. In our sample quote, GST was charged at 18% on the subtotal. Confirm whether each quote includes it before comparing.
BWR or BWP plywood for the carcass, with laminate shutters, is usually the best balance of durability and cost for Bangalore’s humidity. Avoid MDF and particle board under the sink.
Often similar or slightly higher for the same materials. Modular kitchens give more consistent finishes and shorter installation on site. Carpenter-built kitchens can suit very irregular spaces.
Fitting the kitchen on site usually takes only 3 to 5 days. The longer part is factory production, which typically takes about two to three weeks after the design is approved. In total, Bangalore studios generally quote around 3 to 5 weeks from design approval to handover for a standard kitchen, and longer for larger or premium kitchens with special finishes. Be wary of very short promises. A kitchen built to your exact measurements needs factory time. Ask any vendor to put the production and installation timeline in writing.
